The Presenting Confidence Story

Just how does a Chemical Engineer become a public speaking coach and certified etiquette instructor?

It started by accident.

I was a volunteer intern on a political campaign and was asked to help prepare the candidate for a television interview/debate. I used the knowledge of how people learn that I developed from a few years of homeschooling and it worked!

I'd always been comfortable in front of an audience and realized I could successfully help others learn to do the same, even if they have severe presentation anxiety.

I had always wanted to be a teacher. I became an engineer because everyone else told me that that was what those who were good at math and science like myself was supposed to do. I never really enjoyed engineering even if I was good at it. I took a break when my children were young and we were able to move to Fontainebleau France.

I decided to try something new when we returned, which is how I ended up a political campaign intern. (Quite possibly the oldest intern ever!)

I found joy in helping clients reach their goals and improve their confidence giving speeches, whether it was a political speech, a wedding speech or a "Shark Tank" like pitch starting in 2016.

In 2017 I added an etiquette certification from the prestigious American School of Protocol to boost my ability to coach and educate others. Later that year I started Queen City Etiquette to serve those in my hometown of Cincinnati, Ohio.

In 2024 I decided to start Presenting Confidence to reflect my ability to support students living anywhere in the world through virtual lessons. I've worked with students from Korea, Brazil, Saudi Arabia and throughout Europe.

My very unique background (the B.S. in Chemical Engineering from Carnegie Mellon University, time spent working for a large multinational corporation, 3+ years living overseas, and a life coach certification) help me connect with my clients and create innovative and dynamic learning experiences that enable student success.

I'd love to help you Speak. Shine. Succeed.
